Volunteer Opportunity - Sleep in Heavenly Peace

6 Jun by Joseph Poehls

In line with the goal of getting members of our program to become better versions of themselves, we would like to extend out a volunteer opportunity brought to our attention.

Sleep In Heavenly Peace Community Build – Madison West Chapter/St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Cross Plains

Below, please find a message from Jackie Jackson (Elijah’s Mom), who is a volunteer coordinator for Sleep in Heavenly Peace:

Our Sleep in Heavenly Peace chapter has delivered over 850 beds.  We need to prep more beds for deliveries! We have two bed build shifts scheduled on Saturday, 6/21/2025 (9 a.m. – 11 a.m. and 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.) and need your help. With the mission of NO KID SLEEPS ON THE FLOOR IN OUR TOWN!®, Sleep in Heavenly Peace builds beds and delivers them to kids that are currently sleeping on the floor. The beds come complete with a new mattress, pillow and linens. We are on track to surpass our goal of delivering the equivalent of a bed a day in 2025.

We’re excited to continue our partnership with St. Martin’s Lutheran Church and build 50 beds on 6/21/2025!

Please wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dusty or dirty along with closed toe shoes.

If you have a mask, please bring it, as it does get dusty. Some like to bring their own work gloves and safety glasses. Ear plugs and masks are also available on site.

Let me know your questions.

Thank you!
Jackie
